Tony

Notarial Services are provided by Anthony (Tony) Malkin Wright, who qualified as a Notary in 1989.  He is one of the only Notaries within the area and is a member of the Notaries Society (www.thenotariessociety.org.uk).  As a Notary Tony has represented many individuals and commercial organisations and endeavours to provide services to suit the individual needs of the client and the matter.

The principal functions of a Notary are to allow the Notary to prepare and authenticate documents intended to be used abroad.  These include:-

  • Powers of Attorney for the purchase or sale of property abroad.
  • Legalisation (“Apostille”) at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office or Consulate.
  • Documents required to be married abroad.
  • Documents required to provide consent to children travelling abroad.
  • Certifying Academic or other qualification certificates.
  • Certifying copy identification documents.
  • Issuing notarily proved confirmation of identity and signature in both commercial and personal documents.

Tony carries on his business from Aspinall Wright’s office at Notary House, 65 High Street West, Glossop, SK13 8AZ and is contactable on 01457 854645 and by email to [email protected]

Aspinall Wright have ground floor offices available in which to meet clients with disabilities.

Tony’s normal hours of business are Tuesday – Thursday inclusive, 9am to 5.15pm but may in urgent cases and when available meet clients outside those hours by arrangement.

Tony’s fees are calculated on an hourly rate of £240 per hour.  Tony is not registered for VAT and does not charge VAT.  His minimum Notarial Fee is usually £90.

Tony provides to his Clients his Data Protection Policy with his Terms and Conditions.

Tony aims to provide an efficient service.  However clients who are dissatisfied about his service are requested to contact him.

If Tony is unable to resolve the matter with the client then the client may complain to the Notaries Society of which he is a member, who have a complaints procedure which is approved by the Faculty Office.  This procedure is free to use and is designed to provide a quick resolution to any dispute.  In that case clients should write (but not enclose any original documents) with full details of their complaint to:

Tony owes a responsibility to all parties who rely on his certificate.  He does not advise on foreign law however and although he will give advice on the formalities for completing a document, he will not advise on the transaction itself.
